Focusing on energy transition, Vienna is planning to "turn its back on natural gas" and together with 6 European cities is developing solutions for switching to 100 per cent of renewable and climate-friendly heating systems. Together with Bilbao, Bratislava, Dublin, Munich, Rotterdam and Winterthur, Vienna is building up planning capacities and know-how for decarbonising heat supply. Supported by research partners, the cities are developing roadmaps in working groups.
We manage the European project and make the results available to all cities in Europe.
