Cooling oases against urban overheating

Tröpferlbad 2.0

As a result of climate change, cool open spaces in cities are becoming increasingly important. This is where the “Tröpferlbad 2. 0” project comes in, developing modular and cooling-optimized open spaces (coolspots) with a high quality stay and implementing two demo coolspots (Esterházypark and Schlingermarkt). Different participation measures are tested, on the basis of which participation designs for different target groups are developed.
Technical, ecological and social aspects of the development and construction of coolspots are addressed. Findings about microclimate, materials and energy as well as usage behaviour are collected and summarized in a planning guide.
