LIFE DICCA Closing Event
The EU co-financed project LIFE DICCA (Danube Island Climate Change Adaptation), coordinated by the City of Vienna, Water Management will be completed by autumn 2024.
The main aim of LIFE DICCA is to increase the climate change resilience of ecosystems on the Danube Island. To this end, a large number of projects and measures – such as environmentally friendly sheep grazing, the creation of wind turbine-operated pond biotopes, the establishment of new habitats for endangered species, sediment management measures, the implementation of citizen science projects for environmental education and many more – have been developed and implemented over the past six years.
To present the project results, a two-day closing event will take place in June 2024, at which representatives from Vienna and other cities will exchange successes and learningsThe conference language is mainly German, there will be an interpreting service for English-speaking participants.
