The concept of a Plus-Energy-Quarter aims at maximising the production of renewable energy, adapting the consumption to the local production and providing flexibilities for the grid to relieve it. Urban Innovation Vienna leads the projects cities4PEDs, Zukunftsquartier, Zukunftsquartier2.0 and ZQ3Demo, which are dedicated to the concept of urban plus-energy districts.

Urban Innovation Vienna accompanies and networks planners, developers and research institutions in the implementation of Plus-Energy-Quarters in Vienna and promotes the exchange of relevant actors for the replication of Plus-Energy-Quarters locally, nationally and internationally.
