Visitor Economy Strategy 2025

A tourism metropolis like Vienna should also create sustainable added value for the population. The development of new city districts outside the traditional tourism core zones becomes the success criterion of a new understanding of city tourism. The focus must be on quality instead of masses, on business travellers and congress attendants to strengthen the business location, on people living temporarily in Vienna as well as on employees of international organisations.
We developed the strategy in cooperation with the Vienna Tourism Board and in dialogue with stakeholders, international tourism specialists, district managers, cultural workers and mobility and digitalisation experts.
